Maximizing success through positive streaming

Maximizing success through positive streaming We can watch all kinds of streams, all with their unique identity, but there is always a top-level trait that stands out over everything, regardless of the channel's brand: how the streamer treats others. As streamers, cultivating an atmosphere of positivity is extremely important. No matter what is happening in the game or in chat, we need to make sure viewers know that your stream is a safe and welcoming place. This makes your regular audience feel more at home and newcomers are often struck by this and are more likely to follow. Every channel benefits from a layer of positivity draped overhead, as it promotes creativity, communication, and goodwill among its viewers.  Making a positive First Impression Creating a positive atmosphere from the moment someone joins the stream is important. There are many ways to accomplish this, it can be as simple as welcoming someone to the stream and talking with them, all the way to implement...

Increasing your stream's impact by making changes

Increasing your stream's impact by making changes As you continue on your streaming journey, you will undoubtedly notice that there is always something to fix about your stream and that can be very overwhelming. You don’t want to leave solving these things to chance. Often while streaming, you will notice an issue and say I’ll fix it after the show.  The problem with this is that by the time you end the stream, you will have forgotten what changes you wanted to make, or you get distracted with other responsibilities. You might also notice that inspiration can hit at all hours of the day and then by the time you sit back down at the computer you forget about your idea.  To make it easier to not only remember but also to address issues or ideas for your streams, you will want to start keeping a list of things you want to improve or add to your streams. The next time you sit down, you can take out your list and start working on the list you have created. The idea here is not to f...

We is better than me when streaming

We is better than me when streaming A shocking number of streamers make the error of referring to their channel in the first person. Utilizing the singular form in statements such as “I reached affiliate” or “I completed the game series” although factual doesn’t build a sense of community. Although both statements are factual since you own the channel that reached affiliate status, and you controlled the game, this way of thinking is unfavorable. Assuming that anything done in streaming is solely on one person is inaccurate. While you are the person on camera, you need others to view, like, and interact with your content to help you grow your channel. Therefore, you should always think of streaming as we rather than me as your community is the reason advancement is made.  Becoming detached When you first start streaming it can be very lonely. You are working hard and putting effort into your channel with little to no viewers and very little return. It is going to feel like y...

Up your stream presence

Up your stream presence Engaging with viewers and responding to chat are two fundamental aspects of any stream. Streamers pride themselves on being available to answer questions and comments no matter what they might be doing on stream. The interaction quality far surpasses the number of chat messages you can have with each person. This can be broken into three important aspects; make the viewer feel heard, truly engage with chatter and build on questions/interactions. Practicing these three principles will help you have more interesting interactions and make viewers feel involved and appreciated.  Making Viewers feel heard Prior to answering any chat messages, it is important you fully understand the comment being made. Many streamers will look at their chat and quickly glance at messages and then respond.  This creates a very one-sided conversation because by not reading the chat message out loud you aren’t giving it a voice and only your response is featured. Here ar...
